Complete Streets video explains what's at stake

Fresh Energy and their media team tackled the issue of Complete Streets in their newly released video.

“Complete Streets” legislation, now under consideration at the legislature, would require the Minnesota Department of Transportation to design and operate streets for all users: bicyclists, pedestrians, and people with disabilities. 1000 Friends of Minnesota is working with Fresh Energy and other nonprofit partners to communicate why this legislation is good for Minnesota’s communities.

The video features Fresh Energy’s Ethan Fawley interviewing White Bear Lake resident Helen Duritsa, whose son was injured while riding his bike in the narrow, gravelly shoulder of Highway 96. She helps explain why the fast-moving road is so dangerous and why she supports the improvements Complete Streets would bring.
