Statewide Work: Envision Minnesota programs

Envision Minnesota is the program area encompassing the statewide education and policy efforts of 1000 Friends of Minnesota. Through Envision Minnesota, we aim to raise the level of discussion around the state on issues of rapid growth and development, sustainable economic vitality, genuine prosperity for all, protection of natural areas, environmental quality and preservation of community character.

Our goal is to engage citizens and policymakers to chart a bright future for Minnesota with quality communities, a healthy environment and a growing economy. We use communications tools, civic engagement opportunities and large messaging strategies to assert a vision for long-term prosperity in which Minnesota and its communities develop in ways that retain our character and sustain the health of our citizens.

Inspire great conversations through our Legacy Letters project. 1000 Friends of Minnesota is coordinating dozens of one-minute videos about what people treasure in Minnesota. The videos are airing on the Minnesota Channel and are available on our website.

Advocate for a sustainable future through our policy work. Policy advocates from partner organizations will explain the policy points in the action plan in the “Charting Minnesota’s Future” report to state leaders and elected officials. The partners will work together to pursue systemic changes that will enable Minnesota to grow sustainably.
